Tracewave bot
Tracewave follows how public websites change over time. Our bot visits public pages, such as home pages and product pages, and records what they show, so that changes can be found and compared.
How to recognise it
The bot identifies itself with this user-agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Tracewave/<version>; +https://tracewave.io/bot)
It visits from a fixed IP address; we will list our addresses on this page.
What it does
- It loads a page in a standard Chrome browser, scrolls it so that all content loads, and takes one snapshot.
- It visits each page on a fixed schedule, currently once a day, and waits at least 10 seconds between two visits to the same website.
- It follows
robots.txt; its name there isTracewave. - If a cookie banner offers a way to decline, it declines. It never accepts cookies.
- It does not log in.
